Retreat day 3

Greetings from the kitchen at the Bloch House. Last night we saw the musical play "Company" by Steven Sondheim - at the Newport Performing Arts Center (across from the Bloch dedication memorial). It was a wonderful production staged by the Porthole Players community theatre group here in Newport. After the show we got to go down and meet the musicians in the pit and then the whole cast came out to talk with us. We got to meet them and ask them questions - they were a wonderful group of people!

Today (Saturday) we had yummy green pancakes (Happy St. Patty's Day) and green eggs, followed by 2+ hours of Bloch rehearsal in the Bloch house - the Bloch's sounding pretty good! Then it was off to Mo's down on the water front at Newport. After a totally delicious meal, the kids were off to work on their scavenger hunt project (silly, fun things that had to be video recorded - and judged by the chaperons). The results of that challenge will be judged this next hour (I'll let you know who the winners were - can't wait to see what Pokemon duels they staged!).

The most unbelievable part of this whole retreat has been the weather - you wouldn't know it from the predictions, but it's been beautiful - sunny, not rainy, gorgeous!

This afternoon and evening we will continue rehearsing... tomorrow morning we perform at the Presbyterian Church (the lead actor from the play last night is a member and is excited to see us perform).
