2) Reminder - Boot Camp in August!
Boot Camp in August is a mandatory part of the Titan Orchestra program. It gives us a chance to get our hands back on our instruments, to settle any level issues, and to have a wonderful musical experience together! Please clear your calendars for the week of August 20 if you intend on being in the Titan Orchestra program next year. Chamber Orchestra comes on Monday August 20, the rest of the orchestra begins on Tuesday August 21 through Friday August 24. The fee for boot camp will be $40 if paid by the end of the year - $45 if paid on the first day of camp. Waivers for those who have financial need will be available.

Chamber Orchestra will possible go on a fun retreat the weekend before Boot Camp begins.

3) Retreat wrap up...

Chamber Orchestra had a successful 4 day, 3 night retreat to the Oregon Coast this past weekend. We stayed one night in Lincoln City and 2 nights in Agate Beach, next to Newport, OR. The Bloch House facilities were great, including a beautiful view of the ocean (we were on a bluff overlooking Agate Beach). The sanctuary at the Presbyterian Church in Newport proved to be beautiful - it was positively inspirational to work there! The performance during the service on Sunday morning was great - over 100 people in attendance and Chamber sounded better than ever! Huge thanks to Trip Czar Geoff Winkler and the parent chaperons - Carrie Winkler, Anne Mozell, Nesario Ramirez, and Karen and Steve Tatman! For more details, check the blog.

4) Barrage comes to Salem March 31!!!
One of the funnest, most amazing performing groups is coming to the Elsinore Theatre on March 31 - Barrage. This group of young violinists that are backed up by a rock band puts on a wonderful show. Tickets are a bit spendy, but the show is incredible! For more info, check the Elsinore Theatre ticket website:

5) Chamber and Symphony to WOU 4/6
Chamber Orchestra and Symphony will perform at Western Oregon University on Friday April 6 - Chamber performs at 1:30pm and Symphony performs at 3pm. This is our first chance with both groups to qualify for the OSAA Championships (May 11). Buses will leave at 11:15 for orchestra students. Sinfonietta or Titan Orchestra students who need to attend periods 4 or 5 may choose to leave on the Symphony bus at 1:45pm. But, we may have an additional Symphony rehearsal at 10:15... stay tuned.
