1) Chamber parent meeting rescheduled...
Parents and students from Chamber Orchestra are asked to attend a meeting next Thursday evening, 3/8, to go over the trip plans for March 15. Packing information, medication permission requirements, itinerary, and budget information will be shared.

2) Chamber - extra rehearsal on Monday 4:30pm
Chamber Orchestra - we have an extra Monday rehearsal this next week - from 4:30 to 7. We'll be working the tutti sections of the Elgar, as well as looking at the fugue from the Bloch.

3) Solo and Ensemble festival Saturday - McNary
Saturday, tomorrow, March 3 is Solo and Ensemble festival at McNary high school. Students have been sent their times - please arrive 30 minutes earlier than your time slot to warmup. Dress nicely, please.

4) Winter at West video available
Thanks to one of our parents, we have a beautifully produced DVD of Winter at West 2011 available to students' families for only $10. Students can get order forms from Ms. S - $10 is due with the form - by March 2. The DVD's are at school - so all you need to do is bring $10 and the DVD is yours!

5) YMMP (mentoring program) starts up
The Young Musicians Mentoring Program starts up in the next few weeks. West students will be asked to sign up to coach one or more younger string students. If you live in an area other than West you can either find a West student who can come up to our high school, or I can try to find you a young student in your area. The way the program works is that the West student is responsible for connecting with the young student's family to set up a series of 4 coaching sessions - 20 minutes or so. At the conclusion of the 4th session, the young student's family will pay the West student $20 for their time.

6) Come see Fiddler on the Roof - opens tonight!
Fiddler on the Roof opens tonight, Friday 3/2, at 7pm. Come see this great show with some of our own orchestra programs in the cast, including Hayley as the Fiddler on the Roof. Shows are tonight and tomorrow night at 7pm, and next week on Friday and Saturday (2 shows on Saturday the 10th). Tickets are $7 for students, $10 for adults.
