If you can respond “yes” to these four questions, then please consider this a personal invitation to come and treat yourself to “as much chocolate as you can tolerate” in the beautiful lobby of the Historic Elsinore Theatre. (170 High Street SE, Salem)

Each year, Salem Community Concerts holds a fundraiser on the Sunday preceding Valentine’s Day. Friends and patrons donate delicious chocolate desserts of every sort.

Chocolate Sunday is the day to come, sit around a table with friends and enjoy good music, coffee or tea and the most fabulous chocolate available in Salem on a Sunday afternoon! Chocolate cake, cookies, brownies, candy, ice cream sundaes! Even the door prizes are chocolate!

Following each serving, everyone will be invited into the main theater to enjoy a 30-minute concert by Rick Parks on the Mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ. These concerts will begin at 3:00 and 4:00 p.m.

Invite a friend or two, or bring the whole family, plan to come at 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. and indulge in a delightful chocolate Sunday afternoon!

The McNary Band Boosters, along with Weathers Music and Yamaha, are co sponsoring a special concert featuring Allen Vizzutti, Yamaha Performing Artist, (and from what I am being told, one of the top trumpet players in the world!) next Tuesday, February 12th at Salem Alliance Church, at 7 pm. This concert is our area wide concert featuring the McNary HS Wind Ensemble, as well as the Claggett Creek and Whiteaker Middle School Bands, all of whom will be performing with Mr. Vizzutti. If you could please mention this to your students and invite them to the concert, we would appreciate it tremendously! Tickets are only 3.00, we are hoping to offset some of the costs of bringing such a gifted talent to our area; Thank you for your help in spreading the word!
