All these concerts are good for review!!

2) Christmas Tree fundraiser launched
You should have received an email about our very popular (and profitable to students) Christmas tree fundraiser. Last year we only had one kind of tree - this year we have 2 kinds of trees. Thank you to parents Steve Tatman and Tracy Brostrom for all your time and dedication to this great fundraiser!
3) Raffle for the Snoball tickets...
The numbers are in - I have the totals for the Snoball raffle. I will pull the raffle tickets right after Symphony on Tuesday. There are some students who are in the raffle who are not in symphony - I will email and/or call them to let them know if they won the Snoball tickets. Thank you to all who sold - we had a good year for Wreaths and Poinsettias, even though it's not a 'big trip' year.

4) No assignment this weekend
I was out of school Wednesday and Thursday of this week due to whatever stomach bug is going around, so there is no assignment for this weekend. An hour of practice, however, would be a great idea. Everyone should have music - from their class, from Symphony, or from their sectionals or coaches - that they can practice this weekend.

Symphony students were emailed links to their music - you may also find other youtube videos of your music to compare.

5) Titan Auction - items requested! Want to attend?
Parents - Titan Auction is just around the corner and we still would love to hear from you regarding any services, large or small auction items or gift cards, or stays at vacation homes you can donate to the orchestra program to help make this year's auction better than ever! We have still have room at our 4 orchestra tables if you'd like to attend this sit down dinner on Nov. 19 with the Mardi Gras theme. Please email parent Geoff Winkler for more information: geoffwinkler@gmail.com

6) Check out this video!!
Portland-based rock violinist Aaron Meyer has been to our school before - he is a classically trained violinist who performs crossover music with his band. Students have seen him in concert and at the State Fair before. He will be here at the Elsinore Theatre on Nov. 18 - here's video of a classical crossover piece he plays...

And, for the cellists, here is Alban Gerhardt talking about and playing excerpts from the beautiful Dvorak Cello Concerto. Unfortunately, this is not what he's going to play with the Oregon Symphony, but he's a dynamic performer... whatever he plays will be outstanding!

Enjoy!
