Boot Camp Reminder (emailed Aug. 3)

Hi Titan Orchestra member!

It's just about Boot Camp time! (Just a reminder that Boot Camp is a mandatory part of the West Salem High School orchestra curriculum). Here's a rough schedule - a more definite schedule will be emailed to you the week before Boot Camp:

Monday Aug 23
8:45-9:15am Check-in ($40 fee payable to Music Boosters) - you may waiver out if you have free or reduced lunch
9:15 - 12pm - Special performances, group technique work, sight reading (snack provided - bring your own drink)
12pm Titan Strings and Sinfonietta dismissed
12 - 1pm Chamber Orchestra rehearsal

Tuesday Aug 24, Wednesday Aug 25, and Thursday Aug 26

Chamber Orchestra will perform for the other students on Thursday the 26. Two of the special performances earlier in the week will include the Schoenard Trio (piano, violin, cello) from Ashland (seniors in high school), and Unbande (Ms S' group playing jazz, blues, and classical crossover). And, for all you who are wondering, yes, we will do 30 mins of yoga again this year (yay!). And this year I *think* we'll be having a water balloon toss at some point... stay tuned.

I look forward to seeing you and your instrument by 9am on Monday August 23rd! (Those of you in sports or marching band, I'll be in touch with you to see how much of Boot Camp you will be attending... hopefully we can get a few hours of string time into your hands...)
