Western Oregon Contest Itinerary
Thursday April 3, 2008

Dress:
Men - full tuxedo (coat and pants), white shirt, black bow tie, cummerbund, black socks, black leather-finish shoes
Women - black concert dress, black hose, black leather-finish closed-toe shoes

Report: To the Orchestra Room at the start of period 3 (9:09). Dressed for performance. Roll check. Depart for Monmouth

Equipment: The festival will furnish: timpani, chimes, xylophone, marimba, bass drum , chairs and stands.

We must take everything else we will need:
1. Your instrument
2. Your music
3. Rosin, rock stops, mutes
4. All of your uniform - including tux coat and pants or long black dress, black bow tie, black socks, black leather shoes, white shirt, studs and cufflinks (if needed) plain white under garments without printing or writing

Schedule:
9:09 Report to orchestra room, dressed for performance, roll check
9:30 Depart for Monmouth
10:00 Arrive - Watch groups
11:00 Advanced Orchestra warm-up
11:30 Advanced Orchestra perform
12:30 Symphony Orchestra warm-up
1:00 Symphony Orchestra perform
1:45 Board bus, Depart for Salem
2:15 (Approximate) arrive Salem - dismiss after storing equipment

Food There are no places to get food near the performance site. Eat a good breakfast. Take some sort meal/snack with you to tide you over (pack a lunch). Dry sandwiches, fruit, energy bars or trail mix would be appropriate, but nothing messy. Do not plan to leave the group.

On this and every other occasion when we will be representing West Salem and the WSHS Band/Orchestra Program as a group, the highest standards of behavior are expected. All school and West Salem Band rules for acceptable behavior apply on this and every field trip. Contact Mr. Nail or Ms. Silberman immediately regarding anything out of the ordinary. Do not leave the group for any reason without Mr. Nail or Ms. Silberman's knowledge and permission. Conduct on the bus should be calm, quiet and seated. If you will not return home on the bus, you must have a note granting parental approval before we leave. Be safe, be courteous and behave.
