Tuesday Feb. 2 "An Evening of Chamber Music"

Tuesday Feb. 2 "An Evening of Chamber Music"

Hi students and parents,

The results of this chamber music unit have been great - I think you have done an amazing job getting these pieces ready for performance. So, we're going for the long concert - all students will perform! All together, the music is about 80 minutes long - so, if we have quick transitions on and off, we should be able to get our portion of the concert over in just over an hour and half. Then we have the Oregon String Quartet performing for us at the end of the concert - what a great way to end a concert!

Students - please come Monday at 11am. We will run through the program in order (see below) complete with how you enter and how you bow at the end. If one member of your group cannot attend, come anyway - you need to run through your program to get you 'nervous' for Tuesday evening.

Tuesday night - you (students) need to be to the Downtown Salem Public Library (in between Commercial and Liberty just south of downtown) by 5:30pm. You need to wear your school performance black (except Journey group - you may wear jeans and your cool t's). Concert will start on the dot at 7pm.

Parents - I'm sorry about the Monday daytime rehearsal - when I first planned this concert the calendar didn't have Monday as a day off - we would have done this during the school day had their been school. But, I'm uncomfortable with students not running through their material on a stage before playing this on Tuesday... I hope this doesn't completely ruin everyone's day off (if you have it off).

Concert Tuesday evening... Loucks Auditorium is a lovely place to have a concert - perfect for Chamber Music. The concert will begin promptly at 7pm and should be over 9pm or soon there after - what a great night of music it will be! The concert is free - donations to Music Boosters will gladly be accepted. You will have the honor of hearing one of Oregon's premiere chamber groups play after the students are done.

Here's the line up:

Jesu (Might not perform)

St. Antoni Chorale
