(Keister Family Fiddlers) 1) Big Trip updates - payment, rehearsals...Big Trip is only a few weeks away. Today is the deadline for payment. Please email Geoff Winkler if you have any issues, questions, or concerns. The email for how much is in your student account is at the bottom of this newsletter email. We have Big Trip rehearsal today, next Wednesday and Friday the 15th which is a "No School" Grading day. It's getting exciting!!!2) Solo and EnsembleSolo and Ensemble is this weekend - Saturday March 2 at McNary High School. The students know what they are performing and what time they're playing. Come about 30 or 45 minutes early to warm up. Dress nicely! Have an original score copy for the judge. Parents and friends are welcome to come in with you to watch your performance... it feels better to have friends in the room rather than just a judge. 3) Krispy Kreme!!!Big Trip folks are expected to sell 5 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts as our final trip fundraiser. Please get those donuts sold and the order form turned it!4)Concert Sunday at the LibraryI will be playing with my baroque string quartet - Salem Baroque - this Sunday, March 3, at the downtown Salem Public Library at 3pm in the Loucks Auditorium. It's a concert of Haydn and Mozart string quartets - music from the time period of the American Revolution. Tickets are free, but this concert usually sells out, so please plan on arriving up to an hour early to get a seat. You may use this for a live review!5) Symphony trip next FridayThe full itinerary for the Symphony trip will be handed out on Tuesday. But, here's the basics - Symphony students are excused from periods 4 - 7 next Friday. We'll meet in the orchestra room at the start of 4th period to change into concert dress (full symphony dress). We'll pack up and load the bus. We warm up at George Fox at 1:45 and perform at 2:15, then we sight read and come home. We should be home around 4... or maybe as late as 5.6) Check out this video...
